A big week!
Wednesday I sent a draft of The Silk Maidens out to a handful of beta readers, and I'm really looking forward to hearing what folks think about Vialle, her new friends--and new enemies!
As the week went on, the numbers kept going up for a video I posted on Sunday about William Timlin's The Ship that Sailed to Mars, which topped out at about 450 views, and garnered me 18 new subscribers, and even an active comments section! That was very gratifying--if you were one of those viewers, thank you!
Of course the video I posted yesterday, about William Beckford's 1786 Arabian Nights-style gothic horror novel Vathek, did about as well as my other videos, bringing that ship crashing back down to Earth. But that's okay: it's a good opportunity to figure out the differences between the two, and what people--and, of course, the algorithm--might be responding to (or not). It helped reinforce the realization that there are two things I can control--and one of 'em ain't the algorithm!
(Maybe people are just tired of Elon.)
