I can't believe I've been in FMB for five months. What a wonderful opportunity! I've been blessed and fortunate that this worked out for as long and as well as it has. It's been a productive period for me, and I've written solid drafts of two novels that I'm very happy with, both centered around tales of revenge: Dig Two Graves, a pulpy neo-noir crime story in the style of Jim Thompson, and This Accursèd Blade, a dark fantasy about a cursed sword, seeking to avenge itself on its creator.

Here is a link to a brief vlog, recorded on my final day:

In the last two months I've made more videos for The Aisle of Misfit Books, including an interview with Scott Spencer, the author of one of my favorite novels of all time, Endless Love. I was working on the script to a video about the book, and thought, "wouldn't it be great if I could ask him some of these questions?" We connected over Facebook, and he was very generous with his time, super easy to talk to, and enlightening. I'll include a link here:

I recorded some review videos about books I'd been reading more recently. I wanted these to be informal, unscripted, and lightly edited. I uploaded them all around the same time, and linking to each other, as all these novels seemed to be about the world slouching into the apocalypse.

Comparing two novels by two of my favorite authors, both brutal tales:

Dan Simmons channels Stephen King:

Ernst Junger, winner of the Iron Cross while fighting for Germany in WWI, protests the rise of the "Head Forester" and the criminality, corruption, and brutality that he is supporting:

All things, good or bad, must come to an end, and my time in FMB has run its course. Looking forward to reconnecting with family and friends in the coming month, and figuring out my summer destination!
